Ikola Residents Demand Action Against Cult Activities

Residents of Ikola in the Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Alimosho, Lagos State, have urgently appealed to President Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and police authorities for intervention regarding escalating alleged cult activities in their community. They report that suspected cult members operate openly, instilling fear in traders and residents, and affecting commercial activities.

A security source indicated that a welding workshop near Wazobia Market is a gathering point for these individuals, some of whom are armed and were allegedly mobilized during recent ethnic tensions. Resident Chris stated that the crisis began with cult members demanding money from drivers.

A landlady expressed concerns over previous petitions to security authorities that received little follow-up. Residents reported frequent gunfire and instances of cult members stealing goods from shops.

They collectively urged police leaders, including Tunji Disu and Tijani Fatai, to deploy special security squads to restore safety in Ikola.
