Lagos Police Mobilize Community Against Drug Abuse, Cultism

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its efforts against drug abuse, cultism, and other social vices by mobilizing transport operators, traders, and community stakeholders in the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA). This awareness program took place on Friday at the Apapa-Iganmu LCDA secretariat and was organized under the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in collaboration with the council.

ACP Onyinyechi Onwuamaegbu, representing the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, urged residents to reject criminal activities and support community safety initiatives. She highlighted the crucial role of transport workers and traders in providing information to security agencies due to their daily interactions with the public.

The program included messages from the Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA and other stakeholders, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in tackling crime. Participants were encouraged to promote peaceful coexistence and discourage drug abuse and cult-related activities, aligning with POCACOV's goal of addressing the root causes of crime through community engagement.
