Nigerians Evacuated from South Africa Thank Tinubu

On a recent flight, a third batch of 298 Nigerians evacuated from South Africa arrived safely at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The returnees expressed their gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for facilitating the evacuation, which was described as a compassionate intervention during a critical time.

The Nigerian Embassy in South Africa, represented by officials including Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu and Acting High Commissioner Temitop Alexande Ajayi, acknowledged the support from various government officials present at the airport. Among them were Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), and other dignitaries.

The Imo State government, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, provided N1 million to support the returnees. Additionally, telecommunications giant MTN offered free SIM packs and data valued at N50,000, along with cash transfers of N100,000 to each returnee.

This initiative underscores the administration's commitment to the welfare and safety of Nigerians in the diaspora.
