ADP's Angel Lawson Promises 500,000 Jobs in Rivers

The Rivers State chapter of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has launched its campaign for the 2027 governorship election, with candidate Angel Lawson pledging to create 500,000 direct and indirect jobs within the first year of his administration if elected. Lawson made this commitment in Port Harcourt while launching the party’s campaign alongside his running mate, Orluh Ibrahim Nyekachi.

He expressed his motivation to run for governor as a means to provide inclusive governance and address the high unemployment and poverty levels in Rivers State, despite its oil wealth. Lawson stated that the ADP government would prioritize job creation and economic empowerment, with a detailed plan to report progress on these commitments.

He also clarified that the ADP is not affiliated with the Rainbow Coalition, associated with Minister Nyesom Wike, asserting the party's independence. Nyekachi urged voters to protect their votes during the elections, emphasizing the importance of credible election outcomes.
