APC Chieftain Praises Tunji-Ojo's Interior Ministry Reforms

Darlington Nwauju, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, commended Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, for his achievements over the past three years in President Bola Tinubu’s administration. In a statement marking the third anniversary of the inauguration of the first batch of ministers, Nwauju noted that Tunji-Ojo transformed the Interior Ministry from a department known primarily for public holiday announcements to one that implements significant reforms and measurable results.

He highlighted the ministry's success in surpassing its revenue-generation target for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, as validated by the National Assembly. Nwauju mentioned Tunji-Ojo's mobilization of N585 million to assist 4,068 indigent inmates in November 2023 and the ongoing educational opportunities for inmates.

Other reforms included the remodelling of the National Fire Academy and the digitization of immigration processes. Nwauju also noted the promotion of over 75,000 paramilitary officers and the recruitment of 60,000 young Nigerians into paramilitary agencies.
