Rivers State Governor Fubara Addresses Bille Gas Leak

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara held a meeting in Port Harcourt with stakeholders, including representatives from the Nigerian Government, to discuss the gas leak affecting the Bille community. During the meeting, Governor Fubara pledged to upgrade primary healthcare centers to address health challenges faced by the community.

He acknowledged the determination of the Nigerian Government's agencies to identify the root cause of the gas leak and ensure a permanent resolution. The meeting was deemed successful, with actions planned for the coming weeks to fully resolve the issue.

Ga Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, expressed appreciation for Governor Fubara's efforts and clarified that the Nigerian Government is actively working to find sustainable solutions. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), emphasized that no effort would be spared in resolving the issue and pledged to address the community's needs, including the provision of potable water and fire trucks.
