RMAFC Chairman Dr. Shehu Reaffirms Transparency Commitment

On August 5, 2026, Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, OFR, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to transparency and accountability during a courtesy visit from a delegation of BusinessDay Newspaper led by Managing Director Mr. Ogenevwoke at the Commission's headquarters in Abuja. Dr. Shehu expressed gratitude for the media's role in enhancing public understanding of Nigeria's fiscal governance.

He highlighted the Commission's constitutional mandate, which includes monitoring the Federation Account, recommending revenue allocation formulas, and advising on economic diversification. Dr. Shehu announced that the review of the Revenue Allocation Formula is substantially completed and awaiting final draft submission to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for presentation to the National Assembly.

He noted a collaborative legal approach with the Federal Ministry of Justice to expedite the process and mentioned that the review was based on extensive nationwide research, including field assessments and data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
