Russia Intercepts 419 Ukrainian Drones, Infant Killed

On Tuesday, Russia reported that it shot down 419 Ukrainian drones across the country, including in the Moscow region. This interception comes amid a long-range drone strike campaign by Ukraine, which has been ongoing for several months.

A tragic incident occurred in Yevgoryevsk, southwest of Moscow, where a drone struck a private house, resulting in the death of a six-month-old infant in the hospital. Two adults and another child were hospitalized following the attack.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that earlier on Monday, air defenses had shot down 61 enemy drones over the capital. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski confirmed that Kyiv had targeted a satellite communication site in the Moscow region, marking the second such strike within a week.

The ongoing conflict has seen an increase in drone attacks, with Russia reporting the interception of 660 Ukrainian drones in a single day last week, the highest figure since the conflict began.
