Major Russia-Ukraine Prisoner Exchange Returns 185 Soldiers

A major prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine took place, resulting in the return of 185 Russian servicemen to territories under Russian control. Daria Senyushina, a representative of the Russian Embassy in Nigeria, disclosed the details during a telephone interview on Saturday.

The exchange involved 185 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel being released in accordance with an agreement facilitated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The group returning to Russia included soldiers, officers, and civilians who had been held captive since 2022.

This exchange marks a significant development in the ongoing conflict between the two nations, highlighting the role of international mediation in resolving humanitarian issues arising from the war.
