Rwanda Inaugurates FIFA Arena Pitch in Kigali

On March 30, 2026, Rwanda inaugurated a FIFA Arena pitch at Kagarama Secondary School in Kigali, becoming the sixth African nation to benefit from the FIFA Arena project. This initiative is part of a global effort to enhance football infrastructure and promote social impact.

The project is delivered through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between FIFA and the French Development Agency (AFD). Rwanda will receive ten FIFA Arena pitches across various locations, including St.

Joseph Muhanga, TTC Save Gisagara, GSOB Huy, GS Kabara Ngoma, ES Nyamirama, IPM Mukarange, Kayonza College, Inyemeramihigo, and Rubavu College. The project is expected to positively impact youth in various communities by providing opportunities to play football and promoting social inclusion and personal growth.

The inauguration was attended by FIFA Secretary General Mattia Grafström, Rwandan Minister of Sport Nelli Mukazayire, and AFD Director Anthea Manass, among others.
