Sahara Group Foundation Launches Recycling Hub in Jigawa

Sahara Group Foundation inaugurated a recycling hub in Jigawa State on the 21st and 22nd, expanding its initiative to promote sustainable practices. The hub, located in Shuwarin Local Government Area, was established in partnership with the King’s Council of Shuwarin and Asharami Synergy, a sister company within the Sahara Group.

This initiative aims to convert waste into economic value, providing households and communities with opportunities to earn income through recycling, while promoting a cleaner and healthier environment. Ms.

Chidilim Menakaya, the Commissioner Director of Sahara Group Foundation, emphasized the organization's commitment to sustainable practices and strategic partnerships. The inauguration attracted government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Dr. Nura Doka, Chairman of Shuwarin Local Government Area, and Hon.

Abdulhamid Ibrahim Balago, a member of the King’s Council, were present. The project addresses long-standing challenges of waste management in the community, particularly benefiting women and young people.

Sahara Group Foundation plans to commission another recycling hub in Kano State soon.
