Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat Inspire Young Leaders in Lagos

On Monday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, addressed young leaders at the graduation and induction ceremony for the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) 2025/2026 fellowship cohort, along with the induction of the 2026/2027 cohort at Balmoral Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja. They stressed the importance of preparing the next generation for leadership roles, asserting that the sustainability of Lagos relies on the quality, character, and competence of future leaders.

Sanwo-Olu posed a critical question regarding who would govern Lagos in the coming decades, emphasizing that leadership is a lifelong responsibility. He noted that while his administration has invested significantly in infrastructure over the past seven years, effective governance requires more than just physical development.

Sanwo-Olu compared leadership to the cement in construction, stating that the durability of infrastructure depends on the quality of those managing it.
