New TV Series on Céline Dion's Early Life in Development

A scripted television series focusing on Céline Dion's early life and family is currently in development, marking the first time her family has supported a dramatized adaptation of her life. The project, led by her brother Jacques Dion and based on a book by her nephew Jimmi Dion, will trace Céline's formative years in Charlemagne, Quebec, where she grew up as the youngest of 14 siblings in a modest household.

The series aims to spotlight the dynamics of the Dion family, particularly Céline's close bond with her mother, Thérèse. Jacques Dion stated that the project holds deep meaning for the family and captures the spirit of their struggles and love that defined Céline's upbringing.

It will revisit pivotal moments, including when 12-year-old Céline co-wrote her first song, "Ce n'était qu'un rêve," which led to her family's decision to send a cassette to music manager René Angélil, who later became her husband. The series promises an authentic look at the experiences that shaped the celebrated vocalist, who has sold 250 million records and won five Grammy Awards.
