S’East Youths Urge Rejection of Bad Leaders Ahead of 2027

On Monday, during a press briefing, Dr Atigwe Ifeanyi, the Vice-President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) South-East Zone, warned politicians against electoral manipulation ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged youths across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states to utilize their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to reject incompetent leaders.

Ifeanyi highlighted lessons from the recent Osun governorship election, emphasizing the need for credible elections that allow voters to freely choose their leaders. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for its efforts and praised President Bola Tinubu for supporting democratic institutions.

Ifeanyi called for an end to electoral manipulation, intimidation, and rigging, urging politicians to present their records to the electorate. He announced the launch of the “Operation Use Your PVC Well” campaign to educate young voters on their rights and responsibilities.

He also urged INEC to enhance its processes and warned politicians against election rigging, stating that youths would resist such malpractice through lawful participation.
