Secure Digital Infrastructure Key to Nigeria's Digital Divide

At the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA) Innovative and Scientific Conference held recently in Lagos, Mrs. Olufunke Tonye-Preghafi, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Operations at Quomodo Systems Africa, stressed the necessity for stronger investment in secure digital infrastructure to bridge the digital divide in Nigeria. She argued that merely expanding internet access without adequate security measures would undermine efforts to create a resilient digital economy.

Tonye-Preghafi pointed out that discussions on the digital divide often focus on connectivity while neglecting the importance of secure networks and resilient technology infrastructure. She highlighted that the safety and reliability of digital services depend on continuous monitoring against cyber threats.
