Yayi Adeola Plans to Honor Late Ogogo if Elected Governor

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has committed to immortalizing the late Nollywood veteran Hassan Taiwo Ogogo if he wins the Ogun State governorship election in 2027. This promise was made during a condolence visit to Ogogo's family in Ilaro, Ogun State, on September 9, 2026, shortly after returning from a trip abroad.

Adeola described Ogogo as a "personal person" and a cultural ambassador, noting that his death was a significant loss to the industry and the nation. He acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and other prominent Nigerians who sought to provide medical assistance to Ogogo before his passing on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.

Adeola also mentioned Ogogo's role in supporting his governorship ambition through a grassroots group called "Governor's Boys." He promised to sponsor Ogogo's 40th-day prayer and provide ongoing support to the bereaved family.
