Senior Police Officers Advocate for Mentorship in Uyo

During a lecture titled "Mentorship in Policing: Building the Next Generation of Professional Police Leaders," CP Baba Moham Azar of the Akwa Ibom State Command urged senior police officers to embrace mentorship as a fundamental leadership responsibility. The event took place at the command headquarters in Uyo at the end of the month.

Azar stressed that the future strength and credibility of the Nigeria Police Force depend significantly on the quality of leadership cultivated today. He noted that mentorship is a powerful tool for institutional growth and that police officers should not only enforce the law but also develop capabilities, discipline, and service orientation.

Azar emphasized the need for senior officers to guide and coach younger personnel for future leadership roles, highlighting the importance of transferring knowledge and operational experience. He called for a culture of mentorship to enhance professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights within the police force, aiming to build public trust and uphold ethical standards.
