Akwa Ibom Government Enhances Security with Youth Integration

The Akwa Ibom Government, under Governor Eno, is intensifying its security plans by integrating youth leaders into the state's security framework. During a gathering, Governor Eno described this initiative as a critical step toward building a safer and more prosperous Akwa Ibom.

He emphasized that youth leaders will serve as vital links between local communities and traditional institutions, facilitating intelligence flow and strengthening grassroots vigilance. The governor warned that arrangements should not shield individuals involved in unlawful acts.

He directed local government chairmen to appoint security supervisors who will coordinate security activities and serve as liaison officers with village youth presidents and community watch groups. Additionally, Governor Eno instructed security agencies to develop comprehensive training programs for youth leaders.

Plans to expand the state's quick response force to cover ten federal constituencies were announced, alongside a reward system for actionable intelligence. The governor urged village youth presidents to work closely with local leaders and security agencies to mobilize residents for civic participation, including ongoing voter registration exercises.
