Bandit Attack on Sokoto Vehicles Leaves Seven Injured, Troops Respond

In Sokoto State, armed bandits attacked commercial vehicles in Rabah Local Government Area, injuring seven passengers. The incident occurred on September 10 when gunmen armed with rifles blocked the road and opened fire on three vehicles heading to Rabah town from Achida Market.

Despite the driver's attempt to evade the attackers, seven passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees. Troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA later engaged the bandits in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat.

The injured victims were promptly taken to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital for treatment, highlighting the ongoing security challenges posed by banditry in the region.
