Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Elected NBA President

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has been elected as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), with her term running from 2026 to 2028. She emerged victorious in a competitive election, receiving 12,317 votes, which accounted for 47.18% of the total votes cast (26,106).

Badejo-Okusanya defeated two challengers, including her closest rival, Lateef Akangb, who garnered 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, who received 5,855 votes. She holds a degree in English Law from the University of Lagos and has built a legal career spanning over two decades, specializing in litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.

Badejo-Okusanya has served in various capacities, including as a Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Justice Sector Reform Policies and as General Counsel to the Governor. She is recognized for her expertise in regulatory compliance and dispute resolution and has been actively involved in legal organizations, including serving on the board of the Lagos Court of Arbitration.
