Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Elected NBA President

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya has been elected as the president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). In an interview, she stated that her campaign was centered on her capacity as a lawyer rather than her gender, expressing hope that the legal profession would eventually prioritize competence over gender.

She won the election decisively, defeating her closest rival by 4,000 votes. Badejo-Okusanya noted that her victory reflects a shift in the NBA, where gender should no longer be a factor in leadership contests.

She plans to focus on uniting the association, fostering reconciliation among members, and promoting teamwork. She pledged to serve all members of the association, regardless of political alignment, and emphasized the need to move forward collectively.
