NBA Presidential Election Voting Resumes After Delay

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) presidential election voting resumed on July 18, 2023, at 7:35 AM after a cyberattack caused an earlier delay. The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) restored its electronic voting system with enhanced security measures.

The election was originally scheduled to begin at 12:00 AM but was postponed due to the cyberattack. As of the latest report, a total of 6,442 votes had been recorded.

Oyinkansola Badejo Okusanya SAN is currently leading the race with 2,592 votes, representing 40.24% of the ballots counted. Lateef Omoyemi Akangb SAN follows with 2,172 votes (33.72%), while Olumuyiwa Akinboro SAN occupies third place with 1,678 votes (26.05%).

The ECNBA has assured members that the voting process will remain open for 24 hours and has implemented measures to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
