Shehu Sani Demands Reinstatement of Dismissed Workers at Dangote Refinery

Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, called for the reinstatement of workers allegedly dismissed for joining a trade union at Dangote Refinery. Sani criticized the refinery's management for violating workers' rights and jeopardizing industrial peace.

He urged the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) to reconsider cutting gas supply to the refinery, warning of potential economic harm. The dispute between the refinery and the labor union escalated with accusations of unlawful dismissals and replacement of Nigerian workers with foreigners, leading to a nationwide shutdown of operations.
