Kwankwaso Declares Shekarau, Ganduje, Yusuf Finished Politically

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress for the 2027 election, stated that former governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as current Governor Abba Yusuf, are politically finished in Kano. During an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, Kwankwaso reflected on the political downfall of those who betrayed their allies, asserting that political success cannot be built on treachery.

He specifically mentioned Ganduje, who served as his deputy for eight years before succeeding him as governor in 2015, noting that Ganduje's political challenges stem from his decision to part ways with Kwankwaso. Kwankwaso also criticized Governor Abba Yusuf for distancing himself from the political group that supported his election.

He expressed disappointment that Yusuf, who was chosen to avoid repeating Ganduje's mistakes, has not maintained loyalty to the political structure that facilitated his rise to power.
