Shettima Launches NASENI Skill Program for 160 Trainees

On July 27, 2026, Vice President Kashim Shettima officially launched a nationwide skill acquisition program in Kano State, organized by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). The program aims to train 160 participants in various skills, including solar installation, mobile phone hardware repair, and electrical appliance maintenance.

Musaddiq Mustapha, representing the Vice President, emphasized the initiative's alignment with the government's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on job creation and equipping Nigerian entrepreneurs with relevant skills. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NASENI, highlighted the importance of the program in fostering innovation and human capital development.

The initiative is designed to empower youth and women, encouraging them to become creators of technology rather than mere consumers. The program also aims to improve living standards and reduce unemployment through practical training in renewable energy and other technical skills.
