Bandits Kill Worshippers, Abduct Residents in Sokoto Attack

On Tuesday night, bandits attacked a village in Sokoto, killing seven individuals, including three worshippers inside a mosque. The assault began around 8:30 PM and lasted until approximately 3:00 AM the following day.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers surrounded local security operatives, preventing them from responding to distress calls. The attackers looted valuables, rustled livestock, and set fire to vehicles and shops.

Among the deceased, two were indigenes of Tsamaye, while five were displaced persons from neighboring communities. The exact number of abducted residents remains unclear, but at least three individuals have been confirmed abducted after relatives contacted them.

DSP Ahmad Rufai, spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, acknowledged the incident but stated that comprehensive details were still pending.
