Bandits Kill Boy, Abduct 32 in Sokoto Village Attack

On Wednesday night, bandits invaded Takatsaba Village in Sokoto at approximately 11:30 PM, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old boy, Abdullahi Ado's son, and the abduction of 32 individuals from seven households. The attack lasted about 50 minutes, during which the gunmen shot and injured three residents.

Among those abducted were the wives and children of local residents, including the village chief imam's family. Residents reported that security personnel failed to arrive in time to prevent the attack, leading to widespread frustration over the lack of adequate protection.

Following the incident, 20 abducted individuals were later released, while 11 remained captive. The community has expressed concerns about the increasing frequency of such attacks and the perceived neglect from security authorities.

The Sokoto State Police Command has been contacted for verification of the incident but had not provided further feedback at the time of the report.
