Sokoto LG Chairman Isa Kalanjeni Resigns from APC

Isa Kalanjeni, the chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area in Sokoto State, officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his role as executive chairman. His resignation was communicated through two separate letters.

The first letter, dated May 5, 2026, was addressed to the APC ward chairman of Kalanjeni Ward, announcing his immediate resignation from the party. In the second letter, dated July 7, 2026, addressed to the Sokoto State Government Commission for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kalanjeni announced his resignation from his position as executive chairman, effective immediately.

He explained that the decision was difficult but necessary due to administrative constraints and challenges that hindered his ability to fulfill his responsibilities to the expected standards. Kalanjeni expressed gratitude to the people of the council and the entire staff for the opportunity to serve and wished for the continued success of the administration.
