Village Head and Son Buried After Bandit Attack in Sokoto

On Thursday evening, Kulodo Village in Sokoto State was invaded by approximately 150 armed bandits on motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including the village head and his eldest son. The attackers shot indiscriminately, looted homes, and stole livestock, with reports indicating that Alhaji Shehu lost N1 million in cash and 40 cattle during the raid.

The bodies of the victims were not evacuated until late Friday evening, raising concerns about security in the area. Senior government officials, including Muhammad Bello Sifawa, a secretary from the Sokoto State Government, and local representatives, attended the burial, which was conducted according to Islamic rites.

The Nigeria Red Cross, led by Ahmad Suleiman, assisted in the recovery and burial arrangements. Residents expressed their trauma and devastation over the attack, which left the community in fear of further violence.
