Sokoto Governor Urges NYSC Members to Drive Change

On Wednesday, during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch B’ Stream 11 of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp in Farfaru, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu challenged the corps members to become frontline agents of change in their host communities. Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Sifawa, Aliyu stated that their national service transcends mere ceremonial duties and is a call to tackle Nigeria's pressing issues such as youth unemployment, poverty, and rising crime.

He urged corps members to understand the communities they serve and emphasized the importance of respect for local laws and culture. Aliyu assured the corps members of their welfare and security during their service year, pledging a peaceful atmosphere for growth.

NYSC State Coordinator Mr. Tyoyer Gabriel Ter commended the corps members for their positive conduct and encouraged them to engage fully in camp activities to prepare for future responsibilities.
