Soldiers Rescue 10 Abducted Victims in Borno Attack

On Monday, during an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a secondary school in Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State, soldiers successfully rescued 10 abducted victims. The attack occurred at approximately 9:00 AM while students were taking their NECO examinations.

Following the incident, the military launched a coordinated air and ground operation. Capt. Moha Goni reported that troops, supported by intelligence surveillance reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft, engaged in fierce combat with fleeing terrorists, resulting in the successful rescue of the victims, who were unharmed.

The operation also led to the capture of seven motorcycles used by the insurgents. Unfortunately, during the exchange of fire, one soldier from the Joint Task Force was killed.

The military emphasized their commitment to protecting civilians and restoring peace in the region, while also urging the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
