Solomon Adeola Responds to Iyabo Obasanjo's Claims

Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, publicly addressed allegations made by Senator Iyabo Obasanjo regarding a supposed promise to refund her campaign expenses. Speaking at an event in Ilaro, Adeola, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, rejected the claims, emphasizing that governance is about serving the people rather than expecting returns on investments.

After becoming the APC's governorship candidate, he reached out to various stakeholders, including Iyabo Obasanjo, out of respect for her status in Ogun State. However, he claimed that her camp presented demands for a Senate ticket, reimbursement of campaign expenses, and formal recognition within his campaign.

Iyabo Obasanjo countered that these demands originated from her supporters, not her directly. Following a lack of communication from Adeola's camp, she defected to the PDP and became its Senatorial candidate for Ogun Central.

This shift in her stance on zoning and her political loyalty has led Adeola to argue that her loyalty was based on personal gain rather than principle.
