Obasanjo and Adeola Clash Over Campaign Expense Refund

Iyabo Obasanjo, a former APC gubernatorial aspirant, and Solomon Adeola, the current chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, engaged in a public dispute over campaign expenses related to the 2027 Ogun State governorship election. Obasanjo claimed she sought a refund for expenses incurred during her campaign after transitioning from the APC to the PDP, alleging that Adeola's refusal to refund was insulting.

Adeola countered, stating that Obasanjo's demand reflected a self-serving interest in the upcoming election rather than a genuine commitment to public service. He accused her of reneging on promises made when she left the APC and criticized her for seeking financial reimbursement.

Adeola also addressed legal challenges against the APC's candidacy and questioned the legitimacy of the PDP's current standing. Obasanjo responded by labeling Adeola a liar and questioned his integrity, asserting that he failed to meet her requests during their last political meeting.
