Soludo Expands Pilgrimage Access for Anambra Citizens

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has opened up pilgrimage opportunities to more citizens, emphasizing inclusivity regardless of economic status.

During a meeting with Barr. Odira Ezeh, his Senior Special Assistant on Pilgrimage, and Dr.

Chibuik Ofobuik, Chairman of Augusta Local Government Area, Soludo discussed strategies to strengthen partnerships with local government chairmen. The governor highlighted the significance of the pilgrimage program in fostering spiritual, moral, social, and economic benefits for the state.

He expressed a desire for every deserving citizen to have the opportunity to undertake pilgrimage. The Deputy Governor and the Pilgrim Office are tasked with implementing policies to promote transparency and efficiency in service delivery.

A new pilgrimage lottery program is set to be introduced to create wider access for eligible citizens, ensuring a fair selection process. Ezeh and local government chairmen are urged to mobilize and sensitize potential pilgrims within their jurisdictions to enhance grassroots participation.
