Amedspor Signs Yira Sor from Genk for Turkish Super Lig

Amedspor has officially signed Super Eagles winger Yira Sor from Belgian Pro League side Genk, confirming the transfer on Monday via their social media platforms. The 26-year-old winger's move ends months of speculation regarding his future after he was expected to leave Genk this summer.

Sor had joined Genk from Slavia Prague in January 2023 but faced injury setbacks that limited his playing time. He made his Super Eagles debut in March and is now looking for regular playing time in Turkey.

His arrival at Amedspor means he will team up with fellow Nigerian forward Gift Orban, who recently joined the club on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, with an obligation to make the deal permanent under certain conditions. Orban's move followed a period of uncertainty after he was not included in Hoffenheim's plans post a loan spell at Hellas Verona, where he scored seven goals in 29 Serie A appearances.

Both players are set to contribute to Amedspor's inaugural season in Turkey’s top flight.
