ADC South West Denies Division, Affirms Unity and Leadership

The South West chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of Hon. Akinbowal Omol, has issued a statement refuting claims of division within the party.

The statement, released on a Sunday, expressed dismay over media reports suggesting fragmentation in the ADC's South West zone. Hon.

Omol emphasized the party's unity and alignment with national leadership, specifically mentioning the esteemed roles of Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. He described the reports as cruel fabrications aimed at undermining the party's integrity.

The statement also addressed concerns regarding individuals who have attempted to appoint themselves to positions within the South West ADC, asserting that such actions are unconstitutional. A meeting is scheduled for February 10, 2026, to nominate and adopt new officers for the South West executive, with endorsements expected from the national caucus on March 7, 2026.
