Sowore Claims DSS Placed Tracking Device on His Vehicle

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) attached a tracking device to a vehicle used by his security team during his visit to Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This allegation arose after he participated in activities related to the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

Sowore expressed suspicion of being monitored due to unusual movements around his team, especially after addressing a gathering organized by Kay Hikers. Following this, his team changed vehicles and discovered an electronic tracking device, identified as a Spytec GPS GL300 tracker, underneath the security vehicle.

Sowore claimed the device had the IMEI number 860201067972185 and is capable of monitoring vehicle movements. He stated that his team would investigate who deployed the device and their intentions.

The DSS has not publicly responded to Sowore's allegations, and there is no independent confirmation regarding the installation of the device.
