White Tiger FC Wins Spires 5-Aside Lagos Island Title

White Tiger Football Club emerged as champions of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Division Championship held at Ikoyi Recreation Park, Lagos Island, on Saturday. Coached by Emmanuel Olom, the team defeated Greater Tomorrow FC with a score of 5-2 in the final, successfully retaining their title for the third consecutive season.

In the tournament's earlier matches, Alpha Football Club triumphed over Dolphin FC in a penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw in regulation time. The tournament, initiated by Dr.

Bankol Allibai, aims to redefine 5-a-side football in the West African sub-region and promote commercial viability in Nigeria. The top three teams received cash prizes: White Tiger FC received N500,000, Greater Tomorrow FC got N300,000, and Alpha Football Club earned N100,000.

Ajo Azeez of White Tiger FC was awarded the top scorer prize of N50,000 for scoring six goals in three matches. The tournament is set to continue with state championships scheduled for November 2026.
