White Tiger FC Wins Spires 5-Aside Tournament Again

White Tiger Football Club emerged as champions of the Spires 5-Aside tournament, retaining their title for the third consecutive season by defeating Greater Tomorrow FC 5-2 in the final held at Ikoyi Recreation Park on Saturday. Coached by Emmanuel Olom, White Tiger FC's victory was a significant achievement in the Naija Street Soccer Division.

In the tournament's earlier matches, Alpha Football Club triumphed over Dolphin FC in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 3-2 after a 3-3 draw in regulation time. The tournament, organized by Dr.

Bankol Allibai, aimed to redefine 5-a-side football in the West African sub-region and provide commercial viability for street soccer in Nigeria. The top three teams received cash prizes: White Tiger FC received N500,000, Greater Tomorrow FC N300,000, and Alpha Football Club N100,000.

Ajo Azeez of White Tiger FC was awarded N50,000 for being the top scorer with six goals across three matches. The next state championship is scheduled for November 2026.
