Stakeholders Demand EFCC, ICPC Action on NCDMB Corruption

Stakeholders in the oil and gas industry have called upon the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate alleged misconduct by certain officials of the Nigerian Content Development Management Board (NCDMB). This appeal arose from a one-day meeting held in Warri, where stakeholders expressed concern over alleged underhand activities within the board.

They highlighted issues such as over invoicing and conflicts of interest involving principal officers, which contradict the procurement act and NCDMB's guidelines for contract awards. The stakeholders emphasized the need for transparency in NCDMB's operations and insisted that corrupt practices must be eradicated to restore public confidence in the petroleum industry.

The meeting concluded with a call for the management of NCDMB to ensure adherence to established guidelines and to eliminate any corrupt individuals from the system. The General Manager of the Corporate Communications Division, Dr Obinna Ezeobi, was unavailable for comment at the time of the report.
