Standard Bank Forecasts Naira to Appreciate Against Dollar by December 2025

Standard Bank has projected a new Naira/Dollar exchange rate by December 2025, anticipating an appreciation of the Naira to N1,458.8 against the US Dollar. The Central Bank of Nigeria's efforts to stabilize the FX market have contributed to this forecast.

Despite challenges, the Naira is expected to strengthen further, with the possibility of reaching $1 billion monthly once outstanding fuel subsidy arrears are repaid. However, recent data shows a decline in US Dollar inflow, impacting the Naira's performance in the market.

Cordros Capital's report highlights a significant drop in local inflow, down 32.4% month-on-month.
