Delta State to Build 25 New Police Headquarters

The Delta State Government, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the construction of 25 modern divisional police headquarters across the state's local government areas, alongside the establishment of a Special Police Protection Unit (SPU). This initiative, disclosed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Charl Aniagwu, aims to strengthen security in Delta State, which is currently regarded as one of the safest states in Nigeria.

The total estimated cost for these projects is N34 billion. The decision aligns with the federal government's push for state police implementation nationwide.

The Delta State Executive Council, during a meeting presided over by Governor Oborevwori, also approved various projects across different sectors, including road infrastructure, to improve connectivity and boost socio-economic development. The government emphasizes a proactive approach to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents, reflecting its commitment to enhancing security measures in the state.
