Presidency Tells Obi to Accept 2023 Election Loss

The Presidency, represented by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has urged Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), to cease claims of winning the 2023 presidential election, asserting that he lost the election and should accept the results. Onanuga made these remarks in a post on X, responding to Obi's interview on Channels Television.

He criticized Obi for making false claims and compared his political journey unfavorably to that of President Tinubu, who has remained consistent in his political ideology across various parties. Onanuga recounted Tinubu's political history, including his role in opposing military rule and his contributions to the formation of the APC.

He accused Obi of abandoning political parties after electoral defeats and criticized his leadership during the Labour Party's crisis. Onanuga also pointed out that Obi's continued insistence on winning the election contradicts the Supreme Court's judgment.
