Abdullahi Sule Installs Ahm Ubangari Alaku as Aren Eggon

On May 5, 2023, Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State, formally installed Ahm Ubangari Alaku, a retired Chief Judge of the state, as the new Aren Eggon, the paramount traditional ruler of the Eggon nation. The installation ceremony took place in Nasarawa Eggon.

Governor Sule emphasized the importance of traditional rulers in governance and community development, urging Alaku to discharge his duties with justice and fear of God. He noted that traditional rulers are indispensable partners in promoting peace, unity, and conflict resolution within the community.

Alaku succeeds the late Aren Eggon, Dr. Bala Abain Angbazo, and is recognized for his proven leadership qualities and ability to unite people.

The governor also called on traditional rulers to play a positive role in ensuring respect for the democratic process ahead of the June 20 Nasarawa North senatorial district bye-election. Alaku expressed gratitude to the governor for his appointment and pledged to uphold justice and peace in his new role.
