Ola Aina Discusses Choosing Nigeria Over England

Ola Aina, a 29-year-old footballer born in the London borough of Southwark to Nigerian parents, opened up about his decision to represent Nigeria instead of England. Despite having played for England's youth teams at various levels, including U16 to U20, Aina accepted an invitation to train with the Super Eagles in March 2017.

His decision was influenced significantly by his family connections to Nigeria and the opportunity to represent his heritage. He made his Super Eagles debut during a World Cup qualifier against Zambia in October 2017.
