Terrorists Attack Borno APC Governorship Candidate's Convoy

On Thursday, around 2:30 PM, suspected terrorists attacked the convoy of Mustapha Gubio, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Borno State, along the Kareto-Damasak Road. The convoy was on an appreciation tour of northern Borno.

ASP Nahum Daso, the spokesman for the Borno State Police Command, confirmed that no members of the entourage were killed during the incident. The attack was reportedly repelled by combined security forces, who engaged the attackers with an improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenades.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, stated that the tactical team forced the attackers to retreat and ensured the area was cleared of secondary explosive threats. Sources from the convoy indicated that the attack was brief and could have resulted in casualties without the timely intervention of security personnel.

After the incident, the convoy continued its journey without any reported casualties.
