SWAN Educates Ibadan Students on Accounting Careers

On September 24, 2026, the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), the female wing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), conducted its “Catch-Them-Young” outreach program at Anglican Commercial Grammar School in Orita-Meta, Total Garden, Ibadan, Oyo State. The event began at 8:00 a.m. and aimed to sensitize students about the accounting profession and the pathway to becoming chartered accountants.

Chief (Mrs.) Olanrewaju Oluwanikemi, the Principal of the school, welcomed the SWAN delegation, praising the initiative for its timely and impactful nature in guiding students' career choices. Leading the SWAN team was Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Babajide, FCA, the 5th Chairperson of SWAN and 3rd Chairman of ICAN, Ibadan, accompanied by various executives.

Dr. Babajide emphasized the importance of early preparation for a career in accountancy and outlined the benefits of joining ICAN. The program included a detailed explanation of the steps to becoming a chartered accountant and concluded with the distribution of writing materials and an interactive Q&A session.
