Taraba Agency Impounds Vehicle for Illegal Mineral Transport

The Taraba State Environment Protection and Public Safety Agency (TEPP) has impounded a Toyota Yaris that was allegedly transporting illegal solid minerals identified as monoxid minerals. The vehicle was reported to be extracting from the Dakka area in the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.

This action was taken in accordance with the agency's enforcement of Executive Order No. 5 of 2023, which focuses on environmental protection and public safety. The vehicle's contents have been taken into custody pending legal proceedings.

TEPP has warned motorists and individuals involved in the illegal transportation of solid minerals to desist from such activities, emphasizing that violations will lead to arrest and prosecution. The agency reaffirmed the state government's commitment to protecting the environment and safeguarding the state's natural resources, stating that enforcement operations will continue across the state to curb illegal mining activities that are considered harmful to public interest.
