Taraba Governor Expands STEAM Programme for Children

Taraba Governor Kefas announced the approval for the expansion of the statewide STEAM Programme during the closing ceremony of the 2026 initiative organized by the Sarauniya Aishatu Baju (SAB) Foundation on the Mambilla Plateau. The programme engaged over 1,200 children from the Sardauna Local Government Area, emphasizing practical learning, innovation, mentorship, and community involvement.

Governor Kefas directed the Commissioner for Education (Nursery and Primary Education) to collaborate with the SAB Foundation to enhance child education and expand innovative learning opportunities throughout Taraba. He commended the Foundation for its contributions to education, healthcare, women's empowerment, and youth development, and praised Professor Hauwa Ibrahim for her role in bringing the programme to the state.

AIG Dr Aishatu Abubakar Baju, the Foundation's president, stated that the four-week programme aimed to equip children with skills to tackle community challenges. Participants received meals, school supplies, and STEAM learning kits.

The Foundation has empowered over 5,000 women and impacted more than 5,000 children in five years.
