TSUBEB Denies Allegations of Illegal Tenure Extensions

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has dismissed allegations circulating on social media that five of its directors and other senior officials are unlawfully remaining in office beyond the statutory retirement age. TSUBEB described these claims as false, reckless, and defamatory, accusing the originators of attempting to mislead the public and damage the board's reputation.

In a statement signed by the board's management, it clarified that all personnel matters, including appointments and retirements, are handled according to the Taraba State Public Service Rules. The board emphasized that extensions of service are permissible when deemed necessary in the public interest, provided they follow due process and receive appropriate government approvals.

TSUBEB specifically refuted claims regarding its Executive Chairperson, Hon. Dr Christiana Taninga Binga, unlawfully retaining any officer. The board urged the public to disregard the misinformation and warned of potential legal action against those responsible for spreading false information.
